so here it is…
All done for 2018, London-wise at least – phew!
I’m as chipper as ever but completely worn out and looking forward to a well earned rest after a massively fun but inordinately tiring week, rounded off with the new Mary Poppins film at the Picturehouse Central, some Christmas carols at Westminster Central Hall and a stroll back through Trafalgar Square to see the tree prior to the annual bus ride back through the Christmas lights, all on Saturday after checkout. Yay!
The work phone – needless to say – is off and will be switched on briefly on Friday morning as promised but prior to that I will be persona non grata for some festive peace and quiet, and hopefully a chance to wind down and enjoy the end of what turned out to be a delightful couple of weeks – thank you to everybody who joined in making it so! The fridge is full (and the overflow fridge is getting there), the heating, pyjamas and Christmas lights are all on and everything is set for some calm, gentle downtime. And Muppet Christmas Carol, obviously.
So with apologies for brevity, our Christmas Song of the Week accompanied me around Tesco yesterday when I realised I’d forgotten to order blueberries, chestnuts & Big Tom tomato juice, as well as needing to obtain Strepsils as a matter of some urgency after my enthusiastic carol singing on Saturday evening has left me virtually mute. There truly will be peace on earth, or at least the bit of it that’s in my living room.
Merry Christmas to everybody!!!
I’ll see you back here.
