Happy Easter!

And a (very) quick line to remind everybody not only that the usual traffic carnage that only a combination of school holidays and a Bank Holiday weekend can bring is now upon us, but also that I’m only in Scarborough on Tuesday and Wednesday, with limited availability on Monday in the event that anybody wants to arrange in good time. For those who won’t make it in on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, we’re all back to normal on Monday 9th April, hot on the heels of a new tax year…

To those asking about Edinburgh (and even London, which is further away still), please hang fire – there’s ample time and if you really don’t want to wait and just call on the day, a day or so ahead when you’re as certain of your plans as it’s practical to be is plenty. I know we all work differently and some people want eighteen months notice, two character references and a letter from your bank manager but I’m not one of them, and in the nicest possible way, the only thing I’m interested in is taking bookings (with as little fuss, fanfare and general pillocksing about as possible) from punters who are going to turn up. And that’s far easier if the available window for things to go wrong in between booking and doing so is a matter of hours, not days.

In the meantime, the chocolate eggs are hidden in a cupboard (both by and from me), the phone is off and I will not be looking at the latter until Tuesday bar a possible glance on Monday lunchtime if I remember before Seven Brides For Seven Brothers gets underway on Channel 5. The Bank Holiday weather is predictably and reassuringly foul, Scarborough are 3-1 up at half time and I’m deciding whether or not to get dressed today (first world problem, I know).

Happy Easter everybody, and more very soon!
