i dont care what the weatherman says…
…because I am now officially ensconced back at home, and whilst I will not be remaining so for for quite as long as previously anticipated (and do see the usual page for updated travel plans) I plan to take it easy after the hurly-burly of Ireland plus an un-get-out-of-able wedding at the weekend, although I managed to extricate myself in time to catch the second to last train which by an incredible stroke of good fortune was delayed by a half hour and just pulling onto the platform when I walked through the door, saving me a forty minute wait in the freezing cold and depositing me safely back in Scarborough shortly before half past ten.
That said, the last day or so has picked up immeasurably weather-wise, and I hope to be enjoying a little fresh air and exercise over the next week or so when the opportunity permits, although not necessarily at the same time. The observant will have noticed a small addition to the travel plans – I have an exciting assignation up in Inverness at the end of next week and will be heading for the Highlands (cardigan and woolly hat at the ready) on Thursday 31st. The distance has precluded me from returning before now, but I am very much looking forward to reacquainting myself with the town, the lovely scenery and the butteries, the supply I bought upon leaving last time being long gone. Anybody wishing to book, you know what to do!
In other travel news, most of my plans for the next three months or so are about organised and I will be updating the proper page tomorrow, but suffice to say the Isle of Man, Belfast, Derry, Cork and naturally London as well as NYC for those further afield are all on the list – I currently need to locate a suitable slot for Guernsey and that’s about it. Watch this space! As it is now, I am enjoying a few days at a gentle pace with fridge and fishes for company, and whilst I am technically available at reasonable notice as ever, I will categorically not be overdoing it (or anything else). My favourite gym, pool and sauna will be seeing far more of me in in a semi-clad state than anybody else this week I suspect, and rightly so – we all need a rest, especially after a wedding. As for Dublin, bar the timewasters (just as in Belfast, and I’m sure they do have fun in their own way) a lovely time was had and a few new friends made – I also managed to arrive at the airport’s shiny new Terminal 2 in time for a good look round and a treat (see above); having a foot-high ice-cream sundae for lunch is not a regular habit of mine but after the Rocky Road special with a melted chocolate shot at 7 euros or thereabouts, it may soon become one (it’s newly invented home-made counterpart involves chocolate Philadelphia, broken digestives and Carte D’Or light, which is nearly the same and means I can sign in to the Weight Watchers online food tracker without Firefox crashing).
This week, as some will have already seen, has marked a big loss to the industry in the form of my good friend Kinky La Rue (and her arse, which to the fortunate gentlemen who have encountered it will be the greatest loss of all). The lady has said her goodbyes here and headed for an illustrious new career in civvy street after knocking an interview panel sideways on her first attempt at the beginning of the month, and I am pleased to report that she’s settling in nicely (and if the blog link doesn’t work, you missed it). It should not be forgotten that Ms La Rue was one of the founders of SAAFE, the award winning sex worker help and support site which continues to go from strength to strength and is read worldwide by ladies old and new, as well being entirely selfless in providing punting forum trolls with things to start petulant threads about. Her hard work and input (and that of the other founders) has made a huge impact on the way many of us do things, including me who happened across it one day by mistake when I was trying to find this ‘PunterNet’ that one of my helpful gents had suggested I put an ad on. Respect is due.
Anyway, the lady has not relocated to the moon so I will be catching her for Picasso and Ladies Lunch in a month’s time, and am looking forward to hearing what the real world is like since it’s now nearly five years since I managed to disengage myself from it for good with the help of the internet, a handful of pictures and my lovely Website Lady (who coincidentally is also the Website Lady referred to by KLR and when she goes, I might have to). The local rag and their overpriced advertising department hasn’t heard a (busty brunette) peep from me since…
Nostalgia left aside I will be around for a while yet, and in other news some new pictures will be in the offing hopefully the week after next; as some have noticed when visiting I have lost a stone or so in weight and more importantly own a great deal of fabulous and celebratory clobber which has as yet not seen the light of the website page! Since the last couple of sets were very much thrown together, these new will hopefully be a little more organised (and maybe also not involve me with a massive bruise after losing my footing whilst wedged up against the side of the toilet and tumbling into the washing basket). Only time will tell, but if the decent daylight holds we should be in business – yay!
More soon. Next stop Scotland!
