yep, still here…

For those who hadn’t noticed, I am deeply sorry to report that I have had to postpone my Glasgow trip; I believe that I have contacted everyone who has mailed and certainly those who have booked but alas, due to personal circumstances this was sadly unavoidable and whilst I will definitely be rearranging asap, I have not yet decided on dates.

If I’m truly honest, I have reason to suspect I’m in the early stages of a stinking cold and obviously cannot possibly risk passing it on, although the thought of three days reclining elegantly in a fabulous five star hotel and working my way industriously through the room service menu is admittedly not an uninviting one. Unfortunately, it is an extremely expensive way to feel sorry for oneself and if the worst happens then hot baths, Lemsip, home made soup with dumplings and a lengthy quilt-swaddled stint on my giant couch will be the order of the day; bearing in mind the time I’ve spent this week sitting around in warm water with strangers, I ought to thank my lucky stars if it’s not Legionnaires Disease.

Discounts will be offered to those I’ve had to cancel (yes, I’ve written them down, and I promise to reschedule soon). I will be fighting fit again in good time for my London trip on the 18th, although this is virtually booked up and anyone who hasn’t got in touch yet is very likely to miss out, I’m afraid. Details of my first trip to the Channel Islands are also on their way! But not today.

Am off to investigate the vitamin content and health-giving properties of oven chips and aioli. Update soon…

Honey in hot milk is one of the best remedies!

You have my warmest sympathy – summer colds are always the worst.

Now that sounds like a plan – lovely! I NEVER get colds, so it probably is Legionnaires Disease. Or maybe I’m allergic to exercises, and this is the early stages of gym-induced anaphylaxis.

Either way, I doubt I’ll be a very bonny sight by tomorrow, so Glasgow will have to wait. It won’t mind.
